When life hits us hard enough, we sometimes want to let it out and tell all those around us. Venting can be both cathartic as well as ineffective for us if we are not careful as to how we go on and vent. It is a dialectic. Vent to someone you trust, someone who exhibits Wise Mind thoughts and actions. Not to one who will add fuel to the fire when your emotions are being pulled into Emotion Mind. Also, be careful on how you vent. Is your venting expressing a lack of any responsibility on your part? Is it increasing your emotion intensity when judgmentally describing what frustrates you?
