I’m Kari Barker, M.S., LMFT, founder of Integrative Path Healing and the DBT Center of the South Bay. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a DBT-Linehan Board Certified Clinician™, with over 22 years of experience helping adults navigate intense emotions, trauma, anxiety, depression, dissociation, and relational struggles. I specialize in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and DBT-Prolonged Exposure (DBT-PE).
My clinical journey has taken me through inpatient hospitals, school-based programs, community nonprofits, and private practice. I’ve completed intensive and advanced trainings in DBT and trauma, including DBT-PE with Dr. Melanie Harned and DBT-ACES with Dr. Kate Comtois. I also had the honor of attending a 5-day silent mindfulness retreat with Dr. Marsha Linehan, which shaped my commitment to blending evidence-based work with deep presence and compassion.
At Integrative Path Healing, therapy is active, relational, and grounded in what research shows works. But it’s also about heart—about truly being seen and supported, even on the hardest days.
Here, you can expect a balance of structure and flexibility, acceptance and change, validation and growth.
Whether working together on skills, beliefs, or deep emotional healing, the goal is always the same: helping you create meaningful, lasting change.
If you’re ready to start or just curious about what’s possible, I’d be honored to walk alongside you
