Influence Nonverbally

When someone thinks a certain way, and you want them to see things from your point of view, how often are you able to persuade them via discussion? Not as often as you would like, I presume. We think that if we give the best argument for others to do or see things the way we want, they just might do it; and when in actuality it can cause friction and resistance.

To get more from your efforts, work on influencing others through your actions instead of your words. People respond more favorably when they do not feel that their views are attacked and are trying to be convinced of a viewpoint they do not hold. If they observe something different and see the benefits, change will inevitably come. Lead by example and don’t give advice along the way.
