There are many things we do and don’t do in our daily life that both help as well as inhibit self-care. Here’s a list of a few things to incorporate into your to-do list each day to promote improvement in your emotional wellness:
- Validate yourself and take care of you as a person through self-compassion.
- Own personal short-comings and failures, and work through them to gain a greater sense of control around difficult situations.
- Increase mindfulness of the present moment and decrease mindfulness of worry thoughts that get in the way.
- Search for the meaning around difficult situations, for there can often be a surprising gem even within each painful experience.
