So often when we want to ask for something from someone, or even say, “No” to another person’s request, we get straight to the point; and as a result,many times we get fight back from the other person. By using a different strategy with the way we present our requests, we could shift the situation towards our favor. Through a specific formula, the DEAR MAN skills, we can present the situation and our thoughts and opinions in a safe nonjudgmental way then request for what we want as well as reinforce the behavior with an incentive. A simple tweaking of script and presentation can do some magic.
