Building A Life Worth Living, by Marsha M. Linehan
Marsha M. Linehan, PhD, ABPP, the developer of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, has written a memoir in which she opens up more than she has ever before. As a DBT clinician, I have been reading this book and taking my time as I get to know the infamous Marsha. I feel in awe of all that she has gone through and how she was able to have such passion and drive to help those suffering get out of hell. The Psychiatric Times recently wrote a review of her memoir as well and articulates the strength of Marsha’s story. I encourage anyone interested in the development of DBT, or even interested in a story of a woman who has struggled with suicidal ideation and self-harm, to pick up this book.
